Picture Perfect Day

Yesterday was the first snowfall of the season here in DC.  It could not have been a more perfect day.  Very important to remember it was Saturday, so I did not end up sitting in traffic for two hours to drive the 24.8 miles home from my office on the beltway.

The Christmas lights were plugged in from the moment we rolled out of bed until the moment we rolled back into bed, making our home a veritable winter wonderland.  We watched Cars (yay Pixar!) and Cary Grant.  We read our books with Christmas music playing softly in the background.  We took walks in the snow, catching snowflakes on our tongues. We lured the Lucius into sitting with us rather than by himself on the bed.  We drank hot chocolate out of Crate and Barrel snowpup mugs.

The only thing that could have been more perfect was if it was a few degrees colder so the snow would have stuck to the ground instead of turning into slush.  But fortunately when you’re on the sofa looking out the window you can’t see the ground, so, hey, I’ll take it.

  1. I like how lucius’ head is sticking up as if to say, “oh, is that hot chocolate?”

  2. It snowed?! Dammit, I missed it again this year! (Just kidding)
