Life’s a stage

This past weekend we went up to West Virginia to see the Glenn Pearson and Friends trio (family friend Glenn on piano, father in law on bass, and family friend Lee on sax and clarinet) at a little coffee shop in Berkeley Springs.  And they got me to sing with them.  My West Virginia debut!  And all I asked for were the words to the song I didn’t remember the verses for.  Not too much to ask, right?

First song – a bluesy rendition of Summertime from Porgy and Bess.  I’ve been singing this one for years and, if I do say so myself, did I great job.  Second song – Fever.  Hot song.  Know what’s not so hot?  Being given words for verses you’ve never seen before while standing before an audience singing!  Well, the crowd still appreciated it.  At least they stayed after I was done!

  1. They stayed because your hotness was more than enough to make up for the lack of words.
